Carver County’s Lake Minnewashta, covers approximately 650 Acres, with a maximum depth of 70′, & just over 4′ deep water clarity. Between Highways # 7 (to the north) & #5 (to the south ), Excelsior, Chanhassen & Victoria are immediate cities serving the needs of neighborhood communities around the shore.
The Lake Minnewashta Regional Park covers 340 acres, with approximately 5 miles of trails meandering the shoreline, & winding through surrounding forest & prairie areas. An off-leash dog area covers 18 acres of parkland & nearly a mile of exercise trail for Pooch. A fishing pier (catch a bass or two!), picnic shelter, swimming beach, volley ball & playground are also contained within this developing recreational park. Build a bonfire,put on some skis (winter & summer both)… it surely won’t take long to fully appreciate what living here is all about.
The U of M Landscape Arboretum is just a few miles away. Here, find many more opportunities for natural & groomed hiking/skiing trails, educational classes, an outstanding horticulture library, outdoor summer concerts, picnics, & fun art exhibits & annual sales offered throughout our seasons.
